Team Cook was out in force Tuesday for the First District’s National Night Out celebrations, joining residents across the High Desert for an evening of community connection and public safety awareness.

National Night Out, held annually on the first Tuesday in August, is a nationwide event that began in 1984 to promote partnerships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve. What started as a simple front porch campaign has grown into a major community-building effort in cities and towns across the country, strengthening the relationship between neighbors and first responders.

This year, Community Liaison Paul Marsh attended Victorville’s lively celebration at Sunset Ridge Park, while Policy Director Christopher Porter joined Apple Valley residents at Civic Center Park. Constituent Services Director Samuel Shoup took part in Hesperia’s community gathering at Civic Plaza Park. Each event was filled with food, music, games, and great conversations, all centered around promoting a safer and more united community.

A good time was had by all, and we are grateful to our law enforcement partners for their continued dedication and service to our communities.
