April is Earth Month, a time to reflect on the unique High Desert landscape we call home and recommit ourselves to protecting its beauty.

One of the most impactful ways we can celebrate Earth Month is by participating in community cleanups and recycling events. These events are not only a fantastic way to spend a few hours outdoors contributing to a positive cause, but they also offer a chance to meet your neighbors, build a sense of community pride, and make a difference.

Litter not only detracts from the beauty of our desert landscape and waterways, but it also poses a threat to wildlife such as desert tortoises, burrowing owls and other creatures. By picking up trash, we can prevent these harmful impacts and ensure a cleaner, healthier environment.

Remember: Don’t forget to follow my social media pages for updates on upcoming cleanups and recycling events in the First District. Together, we can be the change in our community and make a lasting impact on our environment!
