Trona’s historic Old Guest House Museum, built in 1916, has reopened its doors to the public! The museum offers a fascinating glimpse at mining in the Searles Valley and nearby Death Valley. Today, there are 12 rooms to explore, offering a historical view of early prospectors, gold mining activities, and information about the rare minerals found in Searles Dry Lake. The Gift Shop sells a variety of books about the California desert, postcards, and mineral specimens.

Museum hours are 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Please note that the museum may be closed during the week if a docent is unavailable. For more information, please call 760.372.5222 or visit them online.
