This Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors approved my Board Discretionary Funding request to support two great groups: Victorville American Little League and Victorville Ribbons Little League.

These two little leagues are the largest in Victorville, and the $12,500 we’re donating to each of them will cover the cost of lighting their fields for an entire year. Little League teaches the importance of teamwork and discipline while giving kids the opportunity to participate in America’s Pastime.

My Deputy Chief of Staff Dakota Higgins was pleased to present a check during the Victorville American Little League Opening Day. Dakota was joined by Victorville Mayor Pro-Tem Bob Harriman, a staunch advocate for local youth programs and the man who helped secure the donation from my office.

Mayor Pro-Tem Harriman said, “I appreciate the opportunity to advocate for great youth programs in my district like Little League, and I’m proud to have helped secure this County funding for such a deserving program. Thank you to Col. Cook and his team for recognizing the value of Little League in Victorville and supporting such a worthy cause.”

Thank you to Mayor Pro-Tem Harriman and the entire team at both Little League organizations. I wish all the players, coaches, and families a fun and rewarding season.
