Following Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, I’m thrilled to announce that the County is putting forward a proposal to waive fees for Veterans and Active Military members at our County-operated Museums, Zoos, and Regional Parks on special holidays.

Chief Financial Officer Matthew Erickson stated: “During the fee workshop two weeks ago, Col. Cook asked if we could look at waiving some fees for our Veterans. We worked with our County Museum, Regional Parks and Recreational Park District to waive admission fees on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day for Veterans or Active Service members. This will also include entrance fees for their vehicles on those days.”

This is something I’ve been passionately advocating for, and I’m deeply appreciative of the County’s support. This gesture is a small way to honor those who have courageously put their lives on the line to safeguard our rights and nation.
