The California Four Wheel Drive Association and the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association are excited to announce the 2nd Annual East Mojave Trek, running from Thursday, April 24 to Sunday, April 27, at the historic Goffs Schoolhouse.
This four-day event invites adventurers to explore over 1.5 million acres of the East Mojave’s rugged backcountry, featuring indigenous petroglyphs, historical trails, and landmarks. Activities include guided overland tours along the Mojave Road and East Mojave Heritage Trail, educational workshops on overland safety, local history, and the region’s natural sciences, plus a reenactment of the Oatman Massacre.
Participants can also visit abandoned mines, WWII training sites, unique desert oddities, and enjoy a silent movie with live piano. The event is tailored for street-legal 4-wheel drive vehicles with camping, meals, and facilities provided at the Goffs Museum grounds. Essential vehicle equipment includes a spare tire or repair kit, first aid kit, water, and a GMRS radio.
