In honor of National Preparedness Month, I joined my Board of Supervisors colleagues in urging residents to make a Family Emergency Communication Plan so everyone is prepared when disaster strikes.
Wildfires and earthquakes are among the most common disasters in our region, so it’s important to establish a meeting place for your family if you are separated. Additional things to consider are your evacuation routes, shelter options, modes of communication, and locations for boarding pets and large animals. It’s also extremely important to have a basic emergency kit.
