Did you know that it’s Air Quality Awareness Week? I was pleased to join the Mojave Air Quality Management District in recognition of several businesses who have committed to improving air quality levels here in the High Desert.
The 2022 Air Aware Award was given to High Desert Auto Body in Victorville and Walmart Distribution Center in Apple Valley. To receive this honor, businesses must have three consecutive years of successful annual permit inspections. Other requirements are no history of compliance notices within that time period, exceptional record keeping, staff knowledge of rules and regulations during inspections, ease of inspection and more.
Three gas stations earned the 5-year Mojave Green Gas Station Award, which equates to eight consecutive years of passing annual inspections. Honorees included Caltrans District 8 Vidal Maintenance Station at Vidal Junction, the Chevron station at 2890 Lenwood Road, and the Chevron station at 14217 Highway 395 in Victorville.
