On Monday, the nation will pause to remember the nearly 3,000 souls who lost their lives to terrorism on Sept. 11, 2001.
Proclaimed as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, Patriot Day was created to “pay tribute to the heroes and victims who lost their lives on September 11, and we recommit ourselves to the spirit of unity, patriotism, and service that carried our Nation through in the days that followed.”
Victor Valley College’s tribute, “3,000 Flags of Honor,” will be on view alongside the campus library. The High Desert’s “United We Stand” Memorial was designed by VVC student Joan Sowinski. ASB students have prepared cards with the names of all the victims who lost their lives that day. For more information, please call (760) 245-4271 x 2395 or (909) 208-8515.
