Thank you to the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health for an informative and insightful presentation on the mental health services available to our residents. Their update was shared during our First District Community Roundtable, which brings together local nonprofits and faith-based leaders to discuss community needs and solutions.
The presentation covered a wide range of important programs, including the Progressive Integrated Care Collaborative, which works to improve access to quality primary medical care for High Desert residents living with mental illness. Additional topics included outpatient care, justice-involved and homeless supportive services, community crisis resources, diversion programs, 24/7 crisis response, and children’s mental health services offered in our schools.
There are several mental health resources available in the High Desert. They include the Apple Valley Community Clinic (18818 Highway 18, Apple Valley; 760-995-8800), High Desert Crisis Walk-In Center (12240 Hesperia Road, Victorville; 760-245-8837) and Victor Valley Behavioral Health (12625 Hesperia Road, Victorville; 760-995-8300). The 24/7 Community Crisis Response Team is available by calling 800-398-0018 or via text at 909-420-0560. The Behavioral Health Helpline is at 888-743-1478.
Thanks to all of our community and faith-based leaders who joined us last week to learn more about these vital resources in the First District. A community forum about the High Desert’s new comprehensive behavioral health treatment campus is scheduled from 5–6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 13333 Palmdale Road in Victorville. To RSVP, please call 909-658-1015.
