Halloween weekend is packed with family-friendly fun across the High Desert, with festive events taking place in Victorville, Wrightwood, Phelan and Calico Ghost Town. From trick-or-treating and carnivals to haunted attractions and harvest celebrations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Hope House Halloween Trunk or Treat
Hope House Empowerment Center (A Family Assistance Program) will host a free Halloween Trunk or Treat event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at 15201 Eleventh Street, Suite 100, in Victorville. Families are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening with prizes and a contest for the best-decorated car. Trona Elks Trick or Treat
The Trona Elks Lodge #1975 will host its annual “Trick or Treat” Kids Halloween Party from 3 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. Children are invited to enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, games, and treats, including a free hot dog, chips, and a drink. Guests can also purchase a hot dog, chips, and drink combo for $3. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration and collect a bag of candy while enjoying the Halloween festivities.
Phelan Safe Trick or Treat
Also on Friday, Oct. 31, the Phelan Chamber of Commerce will host its beloved Safe Trick or Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. in the west-side Stater Bros. Plaza parking lot. Local clubs, businesses, and residents will be on hand to pass out candy to hundreds of costumed kids for a fun and safe Halloween experience.
Families can also explore the Downtown Phelan Trick or Treat route the same evening, where local shops and community members will hand out treats along Phelan Road. Those wishing to participate can decorate their vehicles and set up in one of the shopping centers—no registration needed. Volunteers will be stationed at key intersections to ensure everyone’s safety, with a temporary crosswalk available until 7 p.m. between The Phelan Towne Square and The Phelan Village Shopping Center (Stater Bros.).
Wrightwood Artisans’ 4th Halloween Haunt
The Wrightwood Artisans are kicking off the weekend with their 4th Annual Halloween Haunt on Friday, Oct. 31 at 4:30 p.m. at 5995 Cedar Street. Guests can stroll through spooky-but-family-friendly Halloween scenes and enjoy sweet treats in the parking lot. It’s a great way to start the evening with a touch of local charm and creativity. The fun continues throughout Wrightwood Village on Park Drive, with most merchants handing out Halloween candy for trick-or-treaters.
Wrightwood’s Last Clown Standing Carnival & Pet Parade
Wrightwood turns whimsical and wacky with the Last Clown Standing Carnival & Pet Parade, happening Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. (or later) at 6032 Cedar Street. This clown-themed carnival offers games, prizes, and just the right amount of friendly scares. The Pet Parade kicks off at 5 p.m. from the CSD parking lot and concludes at Wrightwood’s Littlest Pet Shop with a pet costume contest that’s sure to delight spectators.
Calvary Chapel Harvest Party
On Saturday, Nov. 1 from 3 to 6 p.m., Calvary Chapel in Phelan invites families to its Harvest Party at 4501 Nielson Road. The event will feature booths, games, a bounce house, hayrides, candy, and plenty of wholesome fall fun. Costumes are encouraged for this cheerful, faith-based celebration that brings the community together.
Calico Ghost Town’s “Ghost Haunt: Terror Under the Big Top”
For those seeking a full weekend of thrills, Calico Ghost Town will host its annual Ghost Haunt: Terror Under the Big Top from Friday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 2. Visitors can enjoy trick-or-treating, live entertainment, haunted attractions, and costume contests for all ages—including a dog costume contest on Saturdays.
