Several First District-related agenda items were approved during Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. These items reflect continued investments in our communities, infrastructure, and public well-being.

Supporting Local Youth Programs

  • $41,568 was approved for First Assembly of God Victorville to support a backpack drive for underprivileged children and purchase a new scoreboard for the Victor Valley Christian School gym.
  • $16,500 was awarded to Victorville American Little League to support general operations and league activities.

Poker Run Fundraiser for Probation Staff

  • The Board approved the 2025 San Bernardino County Probation Department Peer Support Poker Run, to be held in Hesperia. This event will raise funds for probation employees, volunteers, and their families affected by traumatic events such as critical incidents, serious injuries, or loss of life.

Rock Springs Road Bridge – Utility Support

  • A $1,394.46 agreement with Southern California Edison was approved for the extension of electric lines to power new streetlights being installed as part of the Rock Springs Road Bridge Project in Apple Valley.

Adelanto Library and Office Lease

  • The Board approved a continued lease agreement with Springfield, LLC, ensuring that library and County office services remain available to the Adelanto community.

Baker Community Services District – Appointments

  • With only three candidates filing for three open seats, the Board appointed Justin Bracken, Jessie Ray Jenkins, and Frank Weinald to serve on the Baker Community Services District, eliminating the need for an election.

Chromium-6 Treatment Project – Oak Hills

  • A $907,772 Capital Improvement Project was approved to construct treatment facilities at five well sites in CSA 70 J Oak Hills. This is in response to updated state regulations on Chromium-6 levels in drinking water, with compliance required by October 2027.

Special Tax Roll Continuation

The Board authorized the continuation of special taxes for:

  • Community Facilities District 94-01 (City of Hesperia)

These taxes will be added to the 2025-26 property tax roll.

New Community Park for Phelan and Pinon Hills

Approved plans for the Phelan Pinon Hills Community Park, a 14.79-acre site that will be developed in phases to include:

  • Multi-purpose ball/play fields
  • Skateboard and equestrian areas
  • Dog parks, restrooms, and more

The board also approved a zoning amendment to support the park’s development.
