On Monday, road work began in the Hesperia area along a 5.40-mile stretch of Summit Valley Road, starting 1.36 miles north of SR-138 and extending into the City of Hesperia.
This San Bernardino County Public Works project involves the installation of centerline channelizers and warning signs in both directions on Summit Valley Road, along with re-painting faded double yellow striping at various segments. The channelizers will serve to better delineate the sides of the road, directing the flow of traffic and thereby increasing safety for travelers.
Please note that lane closures might be necessary during construction, potentially causing delays; however, traffic control measures will ensure one 11-foot lane remains open in each direction. Allow extra time in your commute schedule, drive cautiously, and reduce speeds through work zones.
This project, scheduled for completion in Spring 2025, is part of our Countywide Vision for a sustainable public safety system.
