Operation Consequences, a countywide initiative launched in October 2022, has made significant strides in combating crime and reducing the prevalence of illegal firearms in San Bernardino County.

This proactive approach has focused on targeting violent crimes, human trafficking, and the distribution of illegal narcotics.

During last week’s “State of the County” address for the Greater High Desert of Commerce, Sheriff Shannon Dicus outlined key year-to-date achievements of Operation Consequences, including:

  • Seizure of firearms: Over 2,277 illegally possessed firearms, including 1,561 ghost guns, have been seized.
  • Arrests: 1,362 felony arrests have been made.
  • Narcotics seizures: Over 57 pounds of cocaine, 3,118 pounds of methamphetamine, 27 pounds of heroin, and more than 214 pounds of fentanyl have been recovered.
  • Human trafficking: 73 arrests have been made, and 43 individuals have been rescued.
  • Compliance checks: Approximately 162 parolees and 825 probationers have been checked, with over 11,000 stops and 3,987 citations made.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the city of Victorville have played a crucial role in these efforts. The city ranks eighth in the state for ghost gun seizures, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our local law enforcement.
