Team Cook has been busy this holiday season attending Christmas tree lightings and toy drives throughout the First District.

Our office was pleased to provide $2,500 in children’s toys to a variety of nonprofits throughout the region. Some included Victor Valley Transit Authority’s “Stuff the Bus” benefiting Victor Valley Rescue Mission; San Bernardino County Fire Department’s “Spark of Love” in Phelan and Hesperia; CHiPs for Kids, and toy drives for Rock’n Our Disabilities and Phelan’s Angel Tree program.

Constituent Services Director Samuel Shoup played Santa for the Wicked Customz “Fill the Firetruck” Toy Drive at Hesperia Elks Lodge and Hesperia Community Farmer’s Market Christmas Toy Drive, while Policy Advisor Christopher Porter and Communications Advisor Veronica Hill passed out toys for Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation and the Victorville Child Care Resource Center

A highlight was S.E.B.A.’s “Shop with a Cop,” held on Sunday morning at the Victorville Walmart. Our team joined more than 30 San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies on a $200 shopping spree for pre-identified children living in the High Desert. Seeing the joyful smiles on these kids’ faces certainly brightened our staffs’ day. Thank you to all of the deputies who spent their Sunday morning off-duty for this wonderful cause!
