On Tuesday, I was pleased to accept a $2 million check from Senator Scott Wilk benefiting the Desert Hill Crisis Residential Treatment Center in Victorville.

Serving roughly 120 residents annually, the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health center provides critical mental health care for our most vulnerable residents, including 70 percent who are experiencing — or at risk of — homelessness.

The funds will go toward several renovations and improvements throughout the center, including:

  • Installing commercial-grade cabinetry and appliances
  • Repairing and painting walls
  • Upgrading bedroom and shared living area furniture
  • Adding outdoor storage sheds for residents’ personal belongings
  • Installing outdoor solar panels, awnings and fans

Thank you, Senator Wilk, for your diligent work securing this funding on behalf of San Bernardino County and our First District residents!
