board

During Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, we voted to terminate the COVID-19 state of emergency, which has been in effect for nearly two years.

Although the board’s actions ended the CEO’s authority to make emergency procurement and staffing decisions, we maintained the ability of first responders who don’t ordinarily transport patients to use non-ambulance vehicles. This will allow our emergency medical systems to remain intact, since some challenges still remain with paramedic staffing shortages and supply chain issues.

Thank you to all of our County employees, local hospitals, first responders and others who have worked so tirelessly during these past two years! You are appreciated!
