Exciting news for the Wrightwood community! During the new year, San Bernardino County Fire Station 14 welcomed a new 2021 PistenBully Snowcat into service.

“We are excited for this versatile, life-saving piece of equipment to be placed into service for our Tri-Community residents and visitors,” said Assistant Chief Dave Corbin.

According to the fire department, Snowcats are vital emergency vehicles in our mountain areas when snow and ice conditions don’t allow for a conventional fire/rescue response. They are regularly used during the winter months when motorists become stranded in the snow along Highway 138 and Highway 2.

This new piece of equipment is sure to enhance the safety operations for our Wrightwood residents and visitors alike.
