Our First District staff joined the community in celebration of Victor Valley Rescue Mission’s new Women’s Shelter in Victorville. The new 6-bed emergency shelter can house six women for 90 days, and there is already a waiting list for future residents. Plans are in the works for an additional shelter that will accept women and children.

During the event, District Director Kimberly Mesen was pleased to present the Rescue Center’s Director Bill Edwards with a Certificate of Recognition. District Attorney Jason Anderson, members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s HOPE Team, Victorville Mayor Debra Jones, and Apple Valley Mayor Pro Tem Kari Leon were also in attendance.

The women’s shelter is staffed by Amalia Hernandez, Dora Jimenez, Crystal Belvin, Valencia Thomas and Tausha Phillips.

Congratulations and thank you to Bill Edwards and his team for providing this valuable resource to our community members in need!
