Please join our First District office, in collaboration with Abundant Living Family Church High Desert, Victor Valley College, San Bernardino County Public Defender and our Workforce Development Department for a special Employment & Education Fair & Expungement Event on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Approximately 35 employers will be on site at Abundant Living Church in Hesperia from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.. Among the industries attending are clerical services, health care, manufacturing, retail, construction, transportation, distribution and food service.
Business representatives will have booths where they will be screening and scheduling applicants for interviews, collecting resumes, handing out applications, and answering questions about the jobs at their companies. A separate resource area will offer educational information from Victor Valley College and Barstow Community College.
Another important component of the Job Fair is expungement services for formerly incarcerated individuals. Our Public Defender staff will be on hand to assist participants with rehabilitation certificates and adult felony/misdemeanor expungement preparation. This valuable service will allow individuals to clear their records in order to secure employment and reintegrate back into society.
We would like to thank Abundant Living for volunteering their venue for this very special event. Pastor Graham and his team have been important County partners, also leading the New Hope Program which has helped to reduce recidivism by providing resources to former inmates.
I’m optimistic that this Job Fair will create so many wonderful opportunities for our High Desert residents, and we are hoping to make this an annual event.
