Keepers

Special thanks goes out to High Desert Keepers, a local nonprofit based in Pinon Hills, for continuing its great work cleaning up trash throughout our community. On June 12, the group teamed up with High Desert Project and the City of Victorville for a cleanup behind El Super on Bear Valley Road.

In about two hours, the volunteers had removed approximately 2,500 pounds of trash!

“Our core purpose is cleaning up the illegal dumping in the High Desert,” says founder Scott Brown. “The High Desert has been experiencing a huge increase in illegal dumping. The problem is massive. Drive down any dirt road and you do not have to look far to find large piles of trash, construction waste, appliances, boats, and tires — thousands and thousands of tires!”
