culvert

Thanks to San Bernardino County Public Works, who recently completed the Sheep Creek Wash culvert project in Wrightwood. In prior years, the road would repeatedly become flooded with thick mud and debris due to its location beneath the Wright Mountain landslide.

The $2.6 million project, funded by the SB 1 gas tax, replaced the existing 10×5-foot drainage box with a new 48×13-foot arch bridge culvert. The project also included 400 feet of new roadway, which reduced much of the dip in the road crossing the stream.

Thank you to Public Works staff for helping to address our infrastructure needs. This new project will be of great benefit to the Wrightwood community and significantly reduce the frequency of road closures during big storms.
