DESCRIPTION:The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is hosting two meetings regarding the State Route 39 Reopening Project\, which would connect the Greater Los Angeles city of Azusa to the First District community of Wrightwood. \nResidents can weigh in on four options regarding SR-39: \n\nClose the road permanently\nOpen the road to emergency vehicles and maintenance crews only\nOpen the road to limited use\, such as public transportation shuttles and bicycles\, with parking lots\nFully reopen the existing road to public traffic\n\nCaltrans has prepared a report that looks at how each option could affect the environment\, including plants\, animals\, water\, and air quality. Residents can read the environmental report online or at the Wrightwood Library (6011 Pine St.\, Wrightwood). \nThe virtual meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday\, April 20\, on Zoom (register here).
